Banners are the workhorse of local marketing. Grand openings, festivals, church events, sales — if something's happening in Concord or Cabarrus County, there's probably a banner involved. The question isn't whether you need one. It's what kind, what size, and how fast.
Banner Materials — Pick the Right One
Standard 13oz Vinyl Banner
The go-to for most jobs. Durable, weather-resistant, and takes color beautifully. Works indoors or outdoors. This is what we use for the majority of our banner orders — it holds up through a North Carolina summer without fading or warping.
Mesh Banner
Has small perforations that let wind pass through. Critical for outdoor installs on fences, scaffolding, or anywhere wind load is a concern. If you've ever seen a solid vinyl banner turn into a sail and rip its grommets out — mesh would have prevented that.
Fabric Banner
For indoor trade shows, events, or retail displays where you want a premium look. Doesn't have the shiny surface of vinyl. Packs smaller and looks more upscale up close.
Common Banner Sizes and What They're Good For
| Size | Best For |
|---|---|
| 2' × 4' | Small indoor displays, table backdrops |
| 2' × 6' | Doorways, entrances, event check-in |
| 3' × 6' | Storefronts, grand openings, sponsorships |
| 4' × 8' | Outdoor events, fences, high-visibility locations |
| 4' × 12' | Building exteriors, large venues, major events |
| Custom | We cut to any size — just ask |
"The most common mistake with banners: ordering the right design but the wrong size. Always measure your space first. A 2×6 that needs to fill an 8-foot wall isn't doing anyone any favors."
If you don't know size, we'll tell you.
Design Tips for Banners That Get Read
- High contrast always wins — your message needs to be readable from across a parking lot
- Limit your text — name, event, date, and one URL or phone number. That's enough.
- Use your brand colors — this isn't the time to experiment with colors nobody associates with your business
- Leave breathing room — a crowded banner is a skipped banner
